Heart Month
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
February is heart month. We give Valentine’s Day cards and gifts to our friends and family. Many people wear red to help us remember our heart’s health. One local hospital in Birmingham will give you a heart check-up for $40.00.
All of these things are great, but what if you don’t have $40.00 for a heart check-up? We can get a spiritual heart check-up if we have zero money. We only need a sincere heart and an open mind when we ask Jesus how our spiritual heart is doing.
Sometimes, being busy at school and with friends, we let things slip into our heart that aren’t good for our heart. If we continue to do something that is wrong, we have sin in our heart. At first, sin can look good, but the sin grows until it can take over our entire heart.
When this happens, we need help from the “Master Heart Fixer” – Jesus! All we have to do is sincerely ask for His forgiveness. He is faithful to forgive and then we are to faithfully serve Him.
It is always wonderful when we pray and get a “well done my child” report. God is faithful to help us live for Him!
